Meet Our Team
Mark: EXECUTIVE MANAGER
While you might not see Mark behind the counter, you can trust that he’s busy in the back office doing things like setting up our deals and partnerships and brainstorming new processes like our delivery system. Mark is new to the laundry and cleaning business, but he is an old hand at helping small and mid-sized businesses grow, thanks to his work as a founder and partner of the consulting firm Maven & Associates. In his early career, Mark learned the ropes working with very large companies as a business consultant at Bain & Company. A balanced life is a high priority for Mark, so when he isn’t working at EcoClean or with a client, he can be seen enjoying all the things that brought him to Austin five years ago. He loves music on the roof deck at MoMo’s, boating on Lake Austin, dinner at the South Congress Café or taking in a movie at the Alamo.
KEVIN: EXECUTIVE MANAGER
When it comes to business technology, Kevin knows it all. We thank him each time we print a ticket or track an order in our system. Before coming to EcoClean in 2010, Kevin was a founding partner for The Concentre Group, an IT consultancy helping large technology departments to better meet business and customer needs. Early in his career, Kevin worked for Bain & Company in London, Dallas and Sydney in industries from airlines and auto manufacturers to grocery stores and waste management. Kevin can't wait for a relaxed and balanced life, but having two girls under the age of three makes that difficult. When he’s in Austin, Kevin loves watching the Longhorns play or eating at Hula Hut, but more than anything, he wants to get back to Dallas in time to read to his daughters before they go to sleep.
Kerstin: GENERAL MANAGER
With unlimited energy, a penchant for organization and a smile brighter than a moontower, Kerstin manages to keep everything at EcoClean running smoothly. As 36-year resident of Austin, Kerstin has been a part of the I Luv Video, Spider House and EcoClean family of businesses for 15 years. Before that, she attended Trinity University in San Antonio, where she earned a BA in art history. Kerstin sits on the Board of Directors of Austin EcoSchool and is an advocate of alternative education and play-based learning. She enjoys hiking the greenbelt, gardening, bicycling around town, visiting art museums and crafting with her kids. Her personal goals include world travel and spending more time making art.
JIMMY: Operations Manager
Jimmy has been working in the cleaning business longer than many of our customers have been alive—more than 30 years. His mom worked in laundries her whole life, and Jimmy started helping her when he was a teenager. Through the years Jimmy has been an operations manager in a number of laundries around Austin and has been with EcoClean for over three years. When he isn’t making sure your shirts are neatly pressed and getting out impossible stains, Jimmy likes to enjoy most of what Austin has to offer. On weekends, you’ll find him at local bars and clubs soaking up some classic rock or spending time with his family cranking up the BBQ. And don’t even think about trying to reach him during American Idol.
RENEE: Operations Manager
A 12 year resident of Austin, Renee has been with EcoClean for almost two years. Like many members of our staff, Renee learned about working in a cleaner from her mom. When she’s not working with customers or checking the machines, Renee serves as our social media guru, keeping our Twitter followers and friends on Facebook up-to-date on EcoClean. On the weekends, Renee likes to hit the antique trail to see what treasures she can find in Fredericksburg, Wimberley and Salado. Renee also enjoys spending plenty of time on Facebook and getting creative with scrapbooking and graphic design.
Annabel: Production Associate
When you notice a perfectly pressed collar or ruffles that look fluffly and not flat, you can often thank Annabel. As our most experienced production associate, Annabel has been with EcoClean for over two years. Her attention to detail does not stop at work; she takes great pride in keeping her house neat and tidy and making improvements to her golf game. When she’s not enjoying family barbeques, Annabel is a fan of local favorites Rudy’s and Bill Miller. Annabel loves to cook and we’re grateful when she makes lunch for the EcoClean crew, especially her NEED DISH NAME or DISH NAME.
Margarita: Production Associate
No one steams an evening gown like Margarita. She’s been working in laundries and cleaners for 14 years, and we’ve been lucky to have her at EcoClean for almost two years. When she’s not working, Margarita keeps up with her novellas and enjoys lots of Austin activities with her two children, including trips to the park, local shopping and meals at Serrano’s. On weekends, you can find Margarita at La Copa checking out the salsa, merengue and reggae music.
Magdelena: Production Associate
While Magdelena has only been with EcoClean for just over a year, she’s quickly challenging Jimmy for the title of best stain remover. Her determination and delicate touch are known for sending stains scrambling. As an Austinite for 19 years, Magdelena enjoys spending time with her family and four children having picnics and barbeques in Austin’s many city parks. She also loves dinner out at Tampico’s on Lamar before a night of dancing.
ELLIS: CUSTOMER Associate
Ellis is relatively new to EcoClean, but he has already had a big impact on our front counter. We’ve found he has a calming effect on customers and staff, which came in handy recently when a customer stripped in our lobby with an urgent need to have his clothes cleaned on the spot. Which we did. Ellis is new to Austin, having been drawn away from Philadelphia by the vibrant creative community that sets Austin apart. Ellis is a man of arts & letters, spending the majority of his free time reading, writing, sketching and jamming on the ukulele or piano. If you are looking for great live music, you only need to visit EcoClean when Ellis is working to catch him singing a tune. And Ellis is also the only member of the EcoClean team to have partial credit for a Razzie Award. He was an extra for the film The Last Airbender, which recently won the Razzie Award for the worst film of 2010.
Kayleigh: CUSTOMER Associate
Kayleigh has been with EcoClean for six months and says we have the nicest customers she has ever had the opportunity to work with. We couldn’t agree more! Kayleigh and her dogs Pepper and Olive came to Austin from the Dallas area three years ago. She really enjoys Austin’s outdoor fun, especially the hike and bike trails and all the good places to break out the skateboard. She is a big David Sedaris fan and enjoys the punk scene at Broken Neck. Not one to spend lots of time on the latest technology, she gets her creative groove on with painting and sewing projects and some hard core vegan baking.
TRAVIS: DELIVERY Associate
Travis has been with EcoClean for almost year and has been instrumental in helping us expand our delivery service throughout Austin. When he is not braving the traffic on MoPac, Travis enjoys spending time on the greenbelt with his girlfriend and his two dogs. You can also find him playing guitar and keyboards in the local band Sleepreader, or catching shows at the Paramount or Emo’s.
